Licensed Outdoor Furniture Contractor -

Built by Contractors. Designed to Last.

Your backyard should work as hard as the rest of your home. Right now, it probably doesn’t.

A bare patio. An unused corner. A yard with potential nobody has unlocked yet. That gap between what your outdoor space is and what it could be costs you every season you wait.

GreyFox Outdoor is the outdoor living contractor Southern Pines homeowners call when they’re done waiting. We design and build patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, and fire pits built for Sandhills weather, not just a showroom photo.

This page explains how we work, what we build, and why local property owners trust us with the whole project.

Why Southern Pines Homeowners Choose a Real Contractor

Retail furniture stores sell what’s on the floor. They don’t build for your space. A licensed contractor measures your patio, sunroom, or pool deck first. Then we craft furniture that actually fits.

Why Southern Pines Property Owners Choose GreyFox Outdoor

We're not a materials supplier. We're the local outdoor living contractor managing your entire project from design to final walkthrough. Built For This Exact Climate Every patio, pergola, and outdoor kitchen we install is engineered for Sandhills humidity, sun exposure, and storm patterns. Not generic specs. Backed In Writing Every install comes with a written warranty on materials and craftsmanship. That's a real guarantee, not a sales pitch. One Local Team GreyFox Outdoor plans, builds, and finishes your project ourselves. No mystery subcontractors. No missed handoffs. Real Craftsmanship We use durable materials selected for long-term performance, not the cheapest option that photographs well. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Huge SHOUTOUT to the 3 young men at Greyfox Outdoor who recently rebuilt my pergola. Sam, John and Tristan were the nicest, most polite, professional and hardest working people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in my 30 years here in the Sandhills. Their work, attention to detail and commitment to their craft was flawless. KUDOS GENTLEMAN.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gray Fox did an outstanding job refurbishing our decaying pergola. From our first meeting with Dave, to the workmanship of Sam and Tristan, our experience was top notch. Professional, polite, organized, neat and hard working. They went above and beyond to turn our worn out pergola into a show piece that will last for years to come.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We couldn’t be happier with the design and construction of our outdoor patio, pavilion with fireplace and carport. The design was truly superior; thoughtful, beautiful and perfectly suited to our formerly sloping and useless space. Grey Fox designer, Julie brought wonderful suggestions and followed through with an amazing computer aided video for us to view before committing to the project. David worked patiently and tirelessly offering so many different types/colors of pavers and stone for the fireplace. The construction itself was flawless. Sam and John showed up every morning and worked through the hottest summer days to deliver the project. Everything was completed on time, with no delays, no mistakes, and a level of craftsmanship that’s hard to find. Their follow‑through was exceptional from start to finish, and the entire experience left us feeling genuinely grateful. This team delivered perfection, and we are thrilled with the final result.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. WOW! Top notch customer service and QUALITY products. The employees at GreyFox are knowledgable and make you feel like family. I recommend GreyFox to everyone in need of outdoor equipment and playground needs. Run, don't walk, to GreyFox and their special events, too. Can't be beat. I bought the USA made Field Company Cast Iron skillet and lid -- high quality, lighter than my Lodge, and can fit meals easily for my large family. Highly recommend you shop Field Co at GreyFox!

- Common Questions -

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an outdoor living contractor actually do?

An outdoor living contractor designs and builds functional backyard spaces like patios, pergolas, kitchens, and fire pits. GreyFox Outdoor manages the entire process, from initial design through final construction, as one accountable local team.

How much does an outdoor living space cost in Southern Pines, NC?

Costs vary by size, materials, and scope. Simple patios start lower, while full outdoor kitchens or covered pergolas cost more. We provide a clear, itemized quote after your design consultation.

How long does an outdoor living project take to complete?

Most projects take a few weeks from groundbreaking to final walkthrough, depending on size and weather. We'll give you a realistic timeline before work begins, not a vague estimate.

Do I need a permit for a patio or pergola in North Carolina?

Many structures require local permits and inspections. GreyFox Outdoor handles permitting as part of the project, so you don't have to navigate Moore County requirements alone.

Why choose GreyFox Outdoor over a national franchise?

We live and work in the Sandhills. Our materials, designs, and timelines account for local weather. You get direct communication with the team building your project, not a call center.
